British Columbia nursing pay rates
BCNU / NBA Provincial · Apr 1 2022 – Mar 31 2025
Expired — job action / mediation
BC is the only unsettled agreement in the country as of July 2026. A tentative 2025–2029 deal reached May 21 2026 was REJECTED by 67 % of NBA members, and job action began July 2 2026 — the longest nursing dispute in BC history. Special Mediators Ready and Rogers issued non-binding recommendations on July 23 2026 sending compensation to interest arbitration, with legislation the alternative. Signed July 7 2026 green sheets WOULD raise the regular premium to $3.00/h (Apr 2026), $3.55 (Apr 2027) and the evening premium to $1.90 then $2.20, move Art. 27.05(A) overtime to double time from Apr 1 2028, and add a $1,000–$2,430 casual hours incentive from Jan 1 2027 — but NONE of it is in force until a collective agreement is ratified. The rates below are therefore the last RATIFIED schedule (evening $1.40, night $5.00, weekend $3.50, regular premium $2.15) and will change retroactively once a deal lands.

onWard holds these British Columbia rates and applies them to the shifts you actually worked — evenings, nights, weekends, overtime at its own multiplier, statutory and super-stat pay, in-charge and preceptor hours, then deductions and net pay. Enter your own base rate and it works for RNs, RPNs and LPNs alike. Every figure is cited to the clause it comes from, so you can check the app’s work against your contract.
