Newfoundland and Labrador has the lowest shift differentials in the country: $2.30/h for evenings and nights alike, $2.55/h weekends. Overtime is 1.5× and only reaches 2× on long runs — the eighth consecutive 8-hour shift, or the fifth consecutive 12-hour shift. On a 12-hour rotation every consecutive shift after the seventh is 1.5× (after the fourth on 8-hour shifts). Nine statutory holidays (14 for public health nurses) at 1.5×, rising to 2.5× where the holiday falls on your day of rest and you are required to work. In-charge pay is $1.00/h; the preceptor premium is $0.75/h capped at $750 a year, and there is a $5,000/year permanent full-time bonus onWard does not model. The agreement lapsed June 30 2026.
